Current Situation on the Railway Corridors to the Northern Ports and the Adriatic – Update No.4

25.07.2022

Dear Customers,

After the weekend, we would like to provide you with an update on the status of rail connections between the inland terminals and the Ports of Koper, Hamburg, Bremerhaven and Wilhelmshaven.

The situation in the ports of Northern Germany is still not stabilised. The terminals are overcrowded, the handling of import and export trains continues with significant delays. Some slots are completely cancelled and trains remain blocked either at the ports or en route to the ports. We currently register at least 10 pairs of stopped trains headed to/from the Port of Hamburg in export and import. The arrival of trains to the Port of Bremerhaven was temporarily suspended on Sunday, 24 July 2022. At least 3 pairs of trains remained suspended en route, and other trains did not even depart. Delays of up to 96 hours are experienced on connections between North German ports and the hinterland.

At the Adriatic service, we are now registering delays of up to 24 hours. For this reason, we were forced to cancel 5 pairs of trains from/to the Port of Koper.

We are constantly monitoring the situation and we are trying to deliver as many shipments as possible to the ports and inland terminals as soon as possible. However, please expect delays when planning your shipments. We will keep you updated.

If you have any questions about your specific orders, please contact our customer service.

For your information, this time we also attach the table that provides an overview of the ordered train slots and slots that we were able to actually implement in both port areas.
