Rolling stock fleet owned by METRANS consists of over 3,700 railcars pulled by more than 140 modern locomotives. We are among the leaders of intermodal rail transportation.
Locomotives
More than 140 locomotives cross European railroads under our flag. We operate a growing fleet of own rolling stock, from owned to leased mainline locomotives to shunting locomotives in our terminals.
Mainline Locomotives
We own a fleet of 40 modern electric locomotives Bombardier TRAXX F140 MS and another 40 more electric locomotives Siemens Vectron MS in our fleet of interoperable rolling stock. A fleet of 8 modern low emission Siemens ER-20 Eurorunner locomotives adds the mainline rolling stock owned by us.
To cover peak demands, a fleet of up to 20 leased locomotives operate under our brand.
Shunting Locomotives
Despite the fact that intermodal trains eliminate most of the shunting needs in comparison to standard rail operations (saving time and money for you), for the non-electrified rail line terminal movements, we own a fleet of 13 diesel shunting locomotives, including two Alstom Prima H3 hybrid shunting locomotives equipped with battery modes allowing to cut emissions by over 50%.
Locomotive Repair Shop
We take good care of our rolling stock too. Our subsidiary, METRANS DYKO, is a certified Siemens and Bombardier locomotives repair shop. It performs repairs and revisions for container wagons, running gear for passenger railcars, locomotives and wheelsets. Strategically positioned in Kolín, Czech Republic, it ensures the reliability of our machines and railcars.
Along with it, a rail and reachstacker repair shop in Dunajska Streda, Slovakia, provides repairs of locomotives, container wagons and reachstackers.
Railcars
In the rail wagons, our world is flat. Flat railcar platforms are all that we operate, reaching own fleet of over 3,700 railcars (type Sggrss 80´or Sggnss 80´).
All our railcars are equipped with reduced break noise and an anti-theft protection against opening container door
