The first train, a METRANS train, arrived to the TIP Zilina terminal. We as METRANS are using our most modern Bombardier Traxx E- locomotive to connect the terminal. The advantage of the terminal TIP Zilina is that we can arrive directly to the terminal without additional shunting costs.
The METRANS HUB concept, where TIP Zilina is connected to the DUNAJSKA STREDA HUB TREMINALS allows us to connect this new service to our services HAMBURG, BREMERHAVEN, KOPER, DUISBURG, but allows also a costs effective equipment moving, however the ZILINA REGION is having a well-balanced cargo flow.
The terminal ZILINA is being operated by a Member of METRANS Group, company TIP ZILINA, s.r.o. which, based on the concession is the terminal operator for the next 30 years (starting from 21.12.2018, when the concession contract has been signed). The TIP Zilina s.r.o. is operating the terminal on an open access condition.
The TIP Zilina s.r.o. also successfully launched the new web page www.terminalzilina.sk where also further information is available, directly related to the open access.
