Dear Customers,
Following our yesterday’s newsletter, we regret to inform you of further complications of the situation with reception and clearance of trains at CTA Terminal.
Due to the current delay in operations of more than 48 hours, with no realistic prospect of being able to catch up or at least minimise that backlog today, CTA Terminal has been forced to cancel two days’ slots.
This decision will significantly affect the delivery of already loaded export trains. It is not yet possible to get any replacement for the cancelled slots, and thus the clearance of the trains will be cumulatively delayed by 2–4 days. At the same time, the situation will greatly complicate planning and our flexibility to deliver containers to ever-changing vessel closings.
Due to the interconnectedness of the circulation of wagons between the Hamburg terminals, this situation may also affect the possibility of timely removal of import containers from some other terminals in Hamburg.
At the moment we do not dare to estimate when the situation will improve and stabilise. Our Customer Service will keep you informed as much as possible about the delivery dates of the already loaded and dispatched trains that are waiting to be received by CTA Terminal at various points along the way.
We are monitoring the situation closely and will inform you about the next steps every 24 hours.
