On 22 October 2003, a company called Railtrans was founded, taking over external national carriers’ traction services for METRANS Group. The company, renamed to METRANS Rail in 2011, increased the quality of services, perfectly fitting the one-stop-shop approach to intermodal transport by METRANS.

Today, METRANS Rail has 216 train drivers, dispatchers, and other employees. Based on a renewed safety certificate obtained on 28 September 2023, it will keep on providing high-quality rail services for METRANS Group for the upcoming five years.
