Dear Customers,
According to the latest reports, delays in clearance in Hamburg persist at only two terminals. Eurogate reports a 12-hour delay. At CTA, despite all efforts, the situation is more difficult. We would like to inform you of the measures taken by CTA terminal.
Late vessel arrivals and early delivery of export shipments according to original vessel arrival schedules are currently causing congestion in the CTA terminal area.
Despite the intensive use of all resources and additional internal measures, the delivered export volume currently exceeds the storage capacity available at CTA. To counter this situation, CTA will implement temporary restrictions on the delivery of export containers for all modes of transport.
From Monday, 4 November 2024, the delivery of export containers will therefore be regulated individually, i.e. CTA reserves the right not to accept railcars with containers for a ship that are delivered earlier than 7 days before its ETA.
To verify actual arrivals, please refer to the information on the https://hhla.de/kunden/auskuenfte/coast website.
The new regulation tightens the already established rule of accepting an export container only for the removal of an import container. The circulation of our trains remains very limited. Stopped export train sets cannot be used for imports not only from CTA but also from other terminals.
Our efforts to use capacity from other locations are complicated by the congested access roads to Hamburg. Due to the fact that Friday is a public holiday in Germany, we unfortunately cannot count on a quicker improvement of the situation. Please take this into account when planning your shipments.
Our Customer Service is available for specific information about your shipments.
We would like to inform you about circumstances affecting our services to/from the Port of Hamburg.
