An exceptional heritage train of METRANS in Germany
For ten years, METRANS Rail Deutschland has been operating modern, fast and innovative intermodal operations on the market. We have done something exceptional to celebrate the decade-long existence – a historical ride.
A special passenger train pulled by a Class 86 steam locomotive at the front and “Ludmilla” at the back rode across Hamburg, including its main station. The inside-train party included a live band, and the after-train party continued on METRANS premises.
On top of that, we made sure our 10th anniversary of METRANS Rail Deutschland is visible to everyone. On 29 September 2023, we put the steam locomotive 86 333 on a day-long legendary shunting service for METRANS in the port of Hamburg.
