🌱🌍 We are excited to announce that our carbon-neutral transport solutions have reached a significant milestone in protecting the planet. Overall, we have managed to eliminate over 170,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions, which represents a remarkable improvement over last year’s 122,590 tonnes.
This achievement is equivalent to:
- What 7.7 million trees absorb in a year (compared to last year’s 5.6 million) 🌳
- Eliminating emissions from 106,250 round-trip flights between New York and London (compared to last year’s 71,250 flights) 🛫
- Eliminating emissions equivalent to the production of 80.95 million cotton T-shirts (compared to last year’s 54.6 million) 👕
- Eliminating emissions from the production of 2.43 million smartphones (compared to last year’s 1.7 million) 📱
What helped us reach this number?
- Integration of Inland Terminals: We have connected Duisburg (Germany) and Indija (Serbia) to our HHLA Pure network, reducing CO2 emissions.
- CO2-Neutral Transport on the Silk Road: From 2024, all transports from Malaszewicze to our METRANS terminals and back can be carried out without CO2 emissions.
- Green Electricity from Photovoltaics: We have launched a modern solar power plant in northern Germany in collaboration with Enerparc, which helps us produce green electricity.
