Dear Customers,
We would like to inform you about a very complex situation which we are experiencing on the Rotterdam corridor at the moment.
Finally, on 24.9.2025 RSC Rotterdam has been re-connected to the rail infrastructure and the connection is fully back in service. Unfortunately, during the complete rail closure, we had to cancel approximately around 600 TEU train capacity, which has caused the backlog of import and export shipments.
We have been regularly informing you about the complex situation on the German rail infrastructure. The number of rail closures, detours and other irregularities remain significant. To mention one with a significant impact – the Elbe Valley rail closure, which allows cargo traffic only during the day.
The fragility of the rail network has been further highlighted by an incident in Emmerich on 19.09.2025. (article in news here). The border crossing in Emmerich remains closed until October 1st. Due to the incident, all trains on the alternative route are currently facing huge delays.
As you can see, the situation remains very complex. We will do our utmost to handle the situation, however, given the available rail capacity, it is unfortunately difficult to avoid an impact on your shipments.
Please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Service for more clarity on your shipments.
