Dear Customers,
We would like to inform you that the Hungarian railway infrastructure manager (MÁV) has scheduled a track closure at Budapest-Soroksári út marshalling yard, specifically affecting switch No. 404, which controls access to the entire yard from the Soroksári út side, including the Csepel locomotive track.
Due to a management decision, urgent high-level maintenance works must be carried out within a very short timeframe. The works will include:
- large-scale sleeper replacement,
- mass component replacement,
- track bed renewal,
with the objective of increasing the permitted speed on this section.
The works are planned to take place daily between 10:00 and 19:00 on the following dates:
- 27 March 2026
- 28 March 2026
- 29 March 2026
- 30 March 2026
During these periods, Budapest-Soroksári út yard will not be able to receive or dispatch trains from/to Ferencváros direction.
METRANS will adjust train planning and services to minimize the impact of this closure on operations and customer services.
At the same time, we managed to coordinate this closure with the planned works and lockouts in Slovenia in the same time period, which is expected to further reduce the overall impact on operational flows and logistics chains.
