Dear Customers,
today, the daytime closure between Schöna and Bad Schandau is taking place again, limiting transit through Germany to/from the Czech Republic, i.e. also services between the North German ports and Slovakia, Hungary, Austria, and the Balkans. As a result, a backlog of trains is building up in both directions and the circulation of train sets and locomotives is significantly disrupted. Railway infrastructure remains heavily congested; considerable delays are occurring, and some trains have to be cancelled.
We would like to remind you of the upcoming closures in the Elbe Valley, as well as on the route between Poland and Germany, and the closures affecting operations at METRANS terminals in Zlín and Ostrava. More information can be found in our Newsletter No. 047/2026 dated 04/03/2026.
Hamburg: HPA continues to manage train entry. Some terminals are operating with delays. Due to damage to one of the cranes at CTB, one of the tracks is out of service.
Bremerhaven: Bremenports continues to manage train entry. The situation in train set circulation is extremely tense, and delays in both directions are reaching several days.
Wilhelmshaven: Import delays of approx. 2 days due to complicated transit through Germany and disrupted locomotive circulation.
Rotterdam / Duisburg: Delays of approx. 24 hours due to complicated transit through Germany.
Gdańsk: Trains are currently running with delays of approximately 13 hours. The backlog persists mainly due to the closure between Česká Třebová and Havířov. The BalticHub terminal is operating this week with planned slot capacity reduced by 20%. Import slots are fully booked until 16 April 2026 (inclusive), and it is currently not possible to request an ad hoc train.
