Important Information: The Situation in Rail Transport and Its Impact on All-Rail Solutions in the Czech Republic and Slovakia

Dear Customers,

We would like to inform you about the current situation in rail transport in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. In connection with ZS Cargo, a.s., the national rail carrier in Slovakia, we regret to inform you that the company has decided to terminate all commercial contracts related to individual shipments, as well as transports involving diesel traction. The amendment to the contracts was also implemented by the national carrier in the Czech Republic, ČD Cargo. The reason given is the increasing cost of fuel.
We are actively addressing the situation; however, it is necessary to expect a review and recalculation of all prices previously issued for all-rail solutions.

At the same time, we are observing a broader development across Europe, where several railway companies have indicated the need for price revisions, particularly due to the provision of first and last mile services at terminals, as well as due to infrastructure works and track closures, which in some cases require the use of diesel traction.

We continue to monitor the situation closely and are working to minimize the impact on your shipments.

Should you have any questions, the METRANS team remains at your full disposal.
