We are pleased to announce the launch of a new METRANS operated intermodal connection between Afluent terminal in Arad and Yusen terminal in Bucharest, which will open up new possibilities for efficient transport between Romania and Europe. This step is important not only for our company, but also for the entire Romanian market, which will now be fully connected to key ports and terminals in Central and Western Europe as well as in the Adriatic.
The first METRANS train on the route Afluent Arad – Yusen Bucharest will be dispatched on 13/07/2025!
Key advantages of the new connection:
- Efficient connection between Romania and European ports:
Customers who transport from the Bucharest area or the eastern part of Romania, now have the opportunity to carry out their transports entirely by rail with a new service from Bucharest via Afluent Arad terminal to HUB terminal METRANS Budapest Csepel, which is connected by the METRANS Group network to major ports in the NWC such as Hamburg, Bremerhaven, Wilhelmshaven and Rotterdam as well as to ports in the Adriatic such as Koper and Rijeka.
- Efficient connection between Romania and European hinterland destinations:
This new connection also provides opportunities for transport either from European hinterland destinations to the port of Constanta or vice versa, for import transport via the port of Constanta to the inland destinations in Europe using the extensive – neutral – intermodal network of the METRANS Group and one or more of its 20 modern inland intermodal terminals in various European countries.
