April Closures in Germany and the Czech Republic

Dear Customers,

Below you can find an overview of planned closures for April.

Germany

The major closure between Berlin and Hamburg on the main corridor to northern German ports is being extended. The originally planned end date of April 2026 is not realistic, as the work will not be completed by then. The new completion date is to be announced in mid-March. Limited services: Northern German ports <-> CZ, SK, PL, HU, AT, KOWU (Berlin), Balkans.

Closures in the Elbe Valley significantly limit services between CZ, SK, HU, AT, the Balkans, and northern German ports, Rotterdam, and Duisburg.

  • Schöna – Bad Schandau 16.03. – 07.12.26 every Monday 9:10 a.m. – 6:50 p.m.
  • Kurort Rathen – Pirna 01.04. – 02.04.26 9:00 p.m. – 4:00 a.m.
  • Kurort Rathen – Pirna 07.04. – 11.04.26 always 8:00 p.m.– 4:00 a.m.
  • Bad Schandau – Obervogelgesang 13.04. – 17.04.26 always 9:00 p.m. – 4:30 a.m.
  • Schöna – Bad Schandau 14.04. – 19.04.26 always 9:10 a.m. – 5:10 p.m.
  • Heidenau – Obervogelgesang 15.04. – 17.04.26 always 0:45 a.m. – 4:00 a.m.
  • Heidenau – Obervogelgesang 24.04. – 25.04.26 10:00 p.m. – 4:00 a.m.
  • Obervogelgesang – Bad Schandau 25.04.-29.04.26 always 9:00 p.m. – 4:30 a.m.

Complete closure between Frankfurt Oderbrücke and Berlin from 02.04.2026 to 24.08.2026. Main detour route via Horka – Węgliniec. We expect delays and limited capacity on the railway. The restrictions apply to trainsbetween northern German ports and Poland.

Czech Republic
 
Closure at Havířov station, METRANS Ostrava terminal inaccessible by rail 01.04.2026, 8:00 a.m. – 08.04.2026, 5:00 p.m. During the closure, METRANS Ostrava terminal will handle all truck deliveries, transshipments, and depots. However, feeders between this terminal and METRANS Česká Třebová terminal will not be running. It is possible that a different terminal will need to be used for some deliveries.
In connection with this closure for service to/from Gdańsk, we expect trains on 01-02.04. and 08-09.04. to run on alternative routes via METRANS Česká Třebová. Round trips on 03-04.04. and 06-07.04. during the Easter holidays will be cancelled.

Closure of the Otrokovice – Vizovice section, METRANS Zlín terminal inaccessible by rail 01.04.2026, 7:20 a.m. – 12.04.2026, 4:45 p.m. During the closure, METRANS Zlín terminal will handle all truck deliveries, transshipments, and depots. The last feeders between METRANS Česká Třebová and METRANS Zlín terminals will depart on 31.03.2026 and the first ones will start again on 12.04.2026 in both directions. It is possible that a different terminal will need to be used for some deliveries. Due to Easter holidays and the weekend, the closure only affects 6 working days.

We believe that the restrictions imposed by railway infrastructure managers will result in smoother operations for all trains in the future.
