Current Situation of Railway Infrastructure, Slovakia

Dear Customers,

Based on information from the railway infrastructure manager of the Slovak Republic, ŽSR, on 14/05/2025 in the early morning hours, rail transport behind the Poprad railway station was completely stopped due to a threat to the safety of rail transport during the removal of the road bridge over the track.

According to preliminary information from ŽSR, this restriction will last until 08:00 a.m. on 17/05/2025.

For this reason, we had to cancel one pair of trains between our terminals Dunajska Streda and Kosice. We are currently organising a replacement connection between these terminals via an alternative route via Hungary. Delays should be expected.

At the same time, on 14/05/2025 in the morning hours, a passenger car collided with a train on the line between Bratislava and Dunajska Streta, and for this reason, rail transport on this section was stopped during the day shift.

The extensive lockout activity at the Bratislava railway junction, where sections of the line are completely closed at certain time intervals, also has a significant impact on the timeliness of our company’s rail transport.

Due to these events, it is necessary to expect delays in planning your shipments and additional trains will be planned taking into account the capacity of the Slovak railway infrastructure.

If you have any questions regarding the current scheduling of your shipments and transit times, please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Service Department.
