With regard to our Newsletter No. 28/2024 of 17/04/2024, we would like to inform you that another terminal operator has introduced a surcharge for booking a loading/unloading slot.
In order to facilitate and speed up container clearance, DP World, the operator of the terminals at the Port of Antwerp, has announced the introduction of a new Spreading Surcharge at the terminals Quay 1700 and Quay 1791 which will be charged in connection with registration of a slot for container pick-up and drop-off.
Based on this announcement, we will be forced to apply this surcharge as well. With effect from 20/05/2024, a surcharge of € 14.00 / box will be invoiced for all shipments to/from the Port of Antwerp handled at Quay 1700 and Quay 1791 terminals, which will be referred to as the Time Slot Surcharge (TSS) in relation to METRANS shipments.
