We would like to share with you the latest news regarding rail transport in Germany and road transport in the Czech Republic.

German railway infrastructure

We are closely following the development of the German government’s negotiations on a possible problem concerning the price, respectively the cost of using the railway infrastructure. On the basis of information from the media, there is a threat of a change in the policy of the German Federal Government related to the state budget and the preparation of restrictive measures. There is a real risk of a change in the calculation of the cost of transport routes on German sections. If the restrictive measures come into force as announced, it will have a significant impact on rail transport prices in Germany, to which we will be forced to respond.

We expect a decision in the coming weeks, at the latest by 2 February 2024.

Toll rates in the Czech Republic

In connection with the implementation of Directive (EU) 2022/362 of the European Parliament and of the Council, as of 1 March 2024, tolls in the Czech Republic for vehicles over 3.5 tons will be expanded to include a production fee for CO2 emissions.

Given that the change in toll rates will affect all vehicle categories, we will evaluate the introduction of the fee.

If there is any change to our 2024 prices as a result of the above-mentioned facts, we will inform you immediately.
