Dear Customers,
The operational situation in Germany remains highly challenging. Snow is falling in both Hamburg and Bremerhaven, and both port infrastructure managers are controlling access to the ports. Some port terminals are handling cargo with significant delays and are limiting their available slots. Due to a blockage by HPA, we currently have 13 trains held in transit to Hamburg. This number includes only METRANS services and only those bound for Hamburg. The capacity of diversion routes on rail sections affected by track closures is at a minimum. Imports from Wilhelmshaven are currently not being given rail slots. Across all services, particularly those to Hamburg, we are continuously forced to cancel trains. We are unable to meet the planned time slots at contractual inland terminals in Germany, which is causing further increases in delays. The above circumstances significantly reduce our planning capabilities. The circulation of train sets, locomotives, and personnel is currently being managed in emergency mode, depending on the available infrastructure capacity.
Gdańsk: Snowfall and generally adverse weather conditions are slowing down and restricting handling operations. During the night, a crane malfunction occurred at the Baltic Hub terminal, making some areas inaccessible. Services in both directions are delayed; for the next scheduled trains, we expect at least +24 hours. It is likely that the terminal will further reduce the capacity of planned slots. Import capacity is fully booked until 05 March 2026 (inclusive). It is still not possible to request an extraordinary train.
For inquiries regarding your specific shipments, please contact our customer service team. We kindly ask for your patience. In the long-term difficult situation, which has now lasted for several weeks, it is very challenging to provide quick and precise information or to establish clear forecasts.
Thank you for your understanding.
