Dear Customers,
During the weekend, a complete rail closure took place in Dresden. The ports of Hamburg and Bremerhaven managed (and therefore restricted) train entries. The German railway infrastructure remains heavily congested, and overall operations are slowed down. For the northern German ports in general, import services are fully booked weeks in advance, and the volume of import shipments accumulated at the ports is enormous.
Hamburg: Snowfall. HPA continues to regulate train entry, and some terminals are operating with delays. Currently, 10 trains from all services are waiting to enter the port. As a result, we are facing a shortage of wagons, locomotives and locomotive drivers for import services. Some connections are being cancelled and planning adjustments are necessary.
- DE: Train delays of up to 3 days due to delays at port terminals and capacity constraints. Some services have to be cancelled.
- PL: Train delays of approximately 24 hours due to delays at port terminals.
Bremerhaven: Adverse weather conditions and frozen switches. Here as well, the infrastructure manager regulates entry by permit. Delays are occurring in both directions, along with significant irregularities in rolling stock circulation.
Wilhelmshaven: Currently only several-hour train delays.
Gdańsk: Bad weather is limiting and slowing down handling operations. Services in both directions are currently delayed by approximately 28 hours. The capacity of planned slots at the Baltic Hub terminal has been reduced by 10% for this week. Import services are fully booked until March 5, 2026. It is not possible to request an additional train at this time.
