Dear Customers,
The challenging operational situation continues. Controlled access to ports, delays in handling at port terminals, and railway maintenance closures are causing significant delays to our services. Today, the situation has been further complicated by a fire on a third-party train near Magdeburg, which resulted in several of our trains being stopped and has increased the complexity of transit through Germany. Some loaded trains are required to wait for departure due to drivers exceeding their permitted working hours. The circulation of train sets and locomotives is significantly disrupted. For the northern German ports in general, import services are fully booked weeks in advance, and the volume of import consignments accumulated at the ports is extremely high.
Hamburg: HPA is controlling access to the port, and some terminals are operating with delays. Several trains from all services are currently waiting for entry clearance on their way to the port. We are forced to cancel certain services and plan operations solely based on allocated capacities.
Bremerhaven: The switches have thawed; however, the infrastructure manager continues to regulate access. Delays are occurring in both directions, along with adjustments to operational planning.
Gdańsk: Due to adverse weather conditions, rail cargo handling operations at the port are experiencing delays of up to 48 hours. In light of these circumstances, BalticHub has cancelled regular slots from 19 to 21 February 2026; we were forced to cancel one pair of trains. Additionally, the capacity of planned terminal slots has been reduced by 10% for this week. Import services are fully booked until 5 March 2026 (inclusive). It is currently not possible to request any additional trains.
