Operational Situation in Northern Europe – Update No. 7

Dear Customers,

Unfortunately, the weekend did not bring the expected positive changes, and the restart of services after the snow emergency remains limited. Railway infrastructure in Germany as well as in the northern German ports is still heavily congested, and the circulation of trainsets and crews continues to be disrupted.

Hamburg: Most port terminals are operating with delays (7–24 hours), and the Hamburg Port Authority (HPA) is still controlling access. Three export trains are temporarily stopped on the way to the port, and delays are also affecting import services.

Bremerhaven: Over the weekend, entry of trains on approval was introduced, and this measure remains in place. Two export trains are temporarily stopped on the way to the port, and delays are also affecting import services.

Wilhelmshaven, Rotterdam, Duisburg: Possible delays in both directions due to transit through Germany.

Gdańsk: METRANS trains are currently delayed by two days due to a severely disrupted circulation of trainsets as a result of adverse weather conditions. The Baltic Hub terminal reports that adverse conditions at the port are still ongoing, which is slowing down handling operations and may cause a further increase in delays to our service.
