Operational Situation in Northern Europe – Update No. 9

Dear Customers,

The situation in northern German ports remains complicated. At this point, we have not yet approached normal operations and regular handling. The accumulated volume of shipments at ports and inland terminals has not yet been reduced.

The worst conditions persist at the Hamburg service. Port terminals are operating with delays of 3–11 hours. Entry to the port is still subject to permission from HPA, and DB InfaGO in the northern region is refusing trains bound for Hamburg; we have several export trains stuck in Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, and Austria. We were forced to cancel three trains at the DE National service. The circulation of trains is disrupted, and imports cannot be dispatched due to delayed exports.

Due to the accumulation of trains, the BalticHub terminal in the Port of Gdańsk has decided to cancel slots from 23 January to 25 January 2026. We were therefore forced to cancel one pair of trains without replacement. At the same time, the terminal is not accepting requests for extra slots. Import trains are already fully booked until 7 February 2026. As soon as the situation allows, we will request extra trains to transport the accumulated import volume.
