As we informed you in our newsletter No. 096/2025 on September 16, 2025, the procedure for the digital release of full import containers began in northern German ports at the beginning of this month.
 
Shipping companies are gradually joining the process, followed by port terminals in November. Until the terminals are connected, a corresponding PIN is required to pick up a container.
 
We would therefore like to ask you to send us the PIN for picking up containers from shipping companies that have already been activated directly as part of your order, or to provide us with the PIN as soon as the shipping company releases the container.
 
To obtain a PIN, you need to register on the German Ports website and proceed with “Downgrade to PIN.”
 
All instructions can be found at www.germanports.com. At the bottom of the German Ports homepage, you will also find a schedule showing the dates on which shipping lines and terminals will be connected to the system.
