On 28.02.2023, the railway infrastructure at Waalhaven Terminal in Rotterdam was damaged due to theft of copper parts. The investigation by the responsible authorities revealed damages of a more serious nature, the removal of which cannot be predicted for the time being.
 
Rail traffic in Rotterdam is severely restricted as a result of this event and trains are experiencing increasing delays, currently up to 24 hours.
