Please let us inform you in the enclosed statement, received from the Slovenian Infrastructure, about the current situation on the southern corridor, which causes a significant delay of our trains from/to Koper. Due to the limitations of the corridor, during the last weekend, we were forced to reschedule the departures of our trains for later dates.

All possible steps have been taken to alleviate the situation; we are in constant contact with the responsible authorities. We would like to assure you, that we make the maximum effort to reduce the delay in your shipments. Nevertheless, it is still necessary to expect delays in this situation in the following days.

Notice about rail freight obstacles by the Slovenian Railway Infrastructure company:

Please be advised that major obstacles and disruptions are occurring in the performance of the operational timetable of the railway freight traffic, due to following reasons:

• closure of Karavanke tunnel and redirection of all traffic via the border crossing Špilje/Spielfeld and Opčine/Villa Opicina
• Increase of rail freight traffic volumes on border crossings Dobova/Savski Marof, Špilje/Spielfeld, Opčine/Villa Opicina, and Hodos/Oriszenpeter
• Maintenance works and longer closures on the HZ Infrastructure network (Dobova – Zagreb) which are heavily influencing the capacity of Dobova/Savski Marof border crossing and route capacity towards Croatia
• Increased freight rail volumes cause obstacles and delays at rolling stock exchange points at border crossings

With the aim to minimize obstacles and to increase traffic capacity, SŽ infrastructure will only perform urgent maintenance works necessary for safe railways operation.
