Notice on current train connections from/to Koper: 26.04.2021

As we informed you in the previous news, due to the continuing extraordinary situation in the Port of Koper and traffic restrictions on the Slovenian Railways network – railway lockout on the Koper – Divača line on 26.04.2021 – in recent days we were forced to reorganize our trains from/to Koper again, which led to the cancellation of 2 pairs of trains last weekend. Despite all of our efforts, until now we have not been able to substitute the canceled capacity. Regrettably, the lacking capacity will have an impact on the transit times from/to Koper and thus the time needed to pick up containers from the port will be affected as well.

In the notice from the Port of Koper below (and here) you can find:

  • implemented restrictions remaining in effect related to delayed arrivals and postponed vessel closings which affect the system of dispatching export containers
  • announced working hours of operation in the port during the holidays on 27.04.2021, 01.05.2021 and 02.05.2021, unfortunately, on 01.05.2021 the port will not perform any operations; thus, it will not be possible to dispatch the planned daily quantity of 6 pairs of trains, which will have an impact on the already existing volume surge in the import direction.

We would also like to remind you of the traffic restrictions that we informed you about in Newsletter no. 21. On the Divača – Koper section, there will be a complete railway lockout on 03.05.2021 from 08:00 to 18:00.

The above-mentioned restrictions and the situation in the port will affect the transit time of our trains from/to Koper.  Also, the possibility to dispatch increased import volumes will be gradual and in accordance with the capacity on transport corridors from/to Koper.

In case of any questions regarding the actual planning of your transport orders and transit times from/to Koper, please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Service Department.
