Dear Customers,
We would like to inform you about some events related to the operation of our services.
Lockout on the Railway Corridor in the Elbe Valley Area – Update No. 1
In connection with our Newsletter No. 60/2023 regarding the ten-day closure on the Decin – Bad Schandau section, we would like to inform you about the current situation.
Due to the current passability of the alternative routes, only 50% of the railway capacity allocated to us by the relevant infrastructures for this period is available after the first two days of the lockout.
We maintain intensive contact with the responsible institutions in order to increase the passability of bypass routes to make full use of the allocated capacity and to ensure that our trains pass through as quickly as possible.
Operational Restrictions at Baltic Hub Container Terminal Gdansk
Based on a report from Baltic Hub Gdansk, we would like to inform you about a planned reduction of the capacity of the terminal for handling trains to 60%, which will take place from 23.10.2023 to 13.11.2023.
For this reason, we are forced to reduce the frequency of our trains on the route Ostrava – Dabrowa Gornicza – Gdansk and v.v. to 2 pairs per week. As a solution to the current situation, by which we minimise the impact of this restriction on our customers, we have chosen the option of cancelling Friday/Saturday (export/import) trains on 27.10.2023/28.10.2023, 3.11.2023/4.11.2023 and 10.11.2023/11.11.2023.
We are monitoring the situation and we are in discussion with Baltic Hub representatives about the possible solutions for restoring the full capacity as quickly as possible. We will keep you informed.
Announced Strike in Trieste
Furthermore, we would like to inform you about the notice of RFI (Rete Ferroviaria Italiana) regarding the ongoing strike in Italy, due to which rail transport on the line from/to Trieste has been suspended.
The relevant departments of our Customer Service remain entirely at your disposal to inform you of the current movement of planned shipments.
