Operational Situation in Northern Europe – Update No. 40

Dear Customers,

The German railway infrastructure remains heavily congested. Current closures and technical issues on the network are impacting all our services transiting Germany. Poland is particularly affected, where, due to accumulated delays, we have been forced to cancel several train pairs. Furthermore, services to/from the Czech Republic and Slovakia, as well as those transiting Austria, Hungary, and the Balkans, are affected—mainly due to the situation in the Elbe Valley. Trains are being held by infrastructure managers and subsequently fail to pass through bottlenecks on time. The circulation of train sets and locomotives is significantly disrupted.

Hamburg: HPA is controlling the entry of trains.

Bremerhaven: Bremenports has currently suspended the management of train entries.

Wilhelmshaven: A significantly delayed import service to Prague is expected to arrive during the night.

Rotterdam / Duisburg: Import delays of up to 20 hours due to complicated transit through Germany.

Gdańsk: Following the cancellation of one roundtrip, operations are currently running without major delays. Import capacity is fully booked until 07 May 2026 (inclusive).
